Monty Don, the celebrated gardener and host of BBC’s Gardeners’ World, enjoys a serene life at his home in Herefordshire, Longmeadow.

His mornings start with a wholesome breakfast and a wander outside to the dew-kissed grass, where he completes a daily ritual that nourishes both body and soul.

Speaking previously to The Times, Monty revealed that he “always wakes early, with the light”, and kick starts his metabolism with a pint of hot water from the Aga.

According to Healthline, drinking plain or hot lemon water can ease congestion, improve digestion, relieve stress, and warm you up.

After half an hour of outdoor yoga, the 68-year-old gardening expert tucks into a delicious breakfast with fresh rhubarb.

‌As far as meals go, breakfast is the most exciting for a morning person, as Monty described himself.

The Gardener’s World presenter enjoys a varied spread of ingredients in the morning, two ingredients that comprise the ultimate meal.

Divulging on his food habits in an episode of his BBC One show, Monty said: “I think rhubarb just lightly stewed with yogurt, is a breakfast of Gods”.

He serves the sweet and juicy stewed fruit atop a generous dollop of creamy yoghurt, but that’s not all.

Monty’s breakfast spread wouldn’t be complete without additional homegrown produce.

Speaking previously to The Times, Monty said: “I really enjoy breakfast and often have yoghurt with fruit from the garden and honey from our bees.

“Or I might have eggs from our chickens with homegrown chillies. I have lots of strong tea – I’m perfectly happy with PG Tips.”

As a fan of marmalade, the beloved British gardener often reaches for a slice of toast with the orange spread, but noted that he steers clear of gluten.

Monty’s wife, Sarah, is coeliac, so the couple avoid flour and choose gluten-free options instead.

After breakfast, Monty enjoys pottering in his garden, which spans a couple of acres.

The Gardeners’ World host revealed that like most people, he takes a mid-morning break at around 11am when he enjoys a cup of coffee – especially on a filming day for the BBC show.

Monty claimed that this is his “single cup of coffee a day”, adding that he enjoys it “large and strong”.
