Halsey has opened up to fans about her secret health battle, declaring “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album.” (sic)

The 29-year-old singer shared a heartfelt Instagram post this week, including a montage of her struggle with illness.

Leukemia is a type of blood cancer, and Blood Cancer UK warns many people living with the disease don’t realise this and miss out on essential treatment and support.

The pop sensation also announced that she will be supporting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance by donating proceeds from her latest single, although she stopped short of revealing her specific condition.

In a candid video, Halsey is seen massaging her legs, lamenting, “I feel like an old lady. I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.

“At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s.”

Halsey has taken social media by storm with her intimate reflection on her health journey, complete with video snaps illustrating her struggle.

The singer has previously been diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).

Her post has already received well over a million likes from her followers, many of whom jumped into the comments to share their support.

“Stay safe Halsey, we are with you. Our fandom Army wishes you well and we are sending you good energy. God bless you,” one fan replied.

“I love you so much, you deserve all the blessings coming your way and you are so strong thank you for everything very proud of you,” another commented.

And a third replied: “Halsey is the voice for so many chronically ill.

“Just another reason why she’s my hero since I have something for the rest of my life but still want to live my dream. I’m so excited to hear this story. I love you so much.”

She also paired her latest raw revelation with a teaser about her upcoming music release.

On Monday, she announced via Instagram: “I’m releasing the first song off my 5th album tomorrow 6/04 at 9am pt / 12 et.

“Before the first single comes, I wanted to share this. It means a lot to me and I love it. Let’s try something different this time and start at ‘The End.'”
